I think the phrase is “Live Where You Vacation.” We pretty much have it made in Hawaii when every day you get to pick some place to visit that most people have to save up for and jump on a plane to experience. We make it a point to do something together as a family every weekend and one of our favorite beaches is Waikiki…probably because we know where to find free parking and you have so many lunch choices. It’s often about food with us. This particular day was long overdue and it was perfect weather. If you are in Hawaii on vacation, don’t forget to document these great moments that you spent so much money to experience.
We started off at the Waikiki boat harbor and the bike only parking. Mr. A is very into giving shakas every chance he gets. He was more than happy to pose and shaka his little heart out. The best part of the day was seeing a manta ray in the harbor. It looked like a little alien vacuum as it swam along the bottom looking for food. I’ve never seen one in real life so it was a pretty neat experience.
One of the best parts of photography is being able to go back to those moments that were so fun or special or memorable and relive the memories. Pictures have the ability to take you to a better mental space. When times are tough, you’re crazy-busy with work, or you’re stressed out, pictures like these can put you in a better mood.
